  • What is chai tea?

    Chai is a black tea variety popularised in India. It is made using the technique called CTC- cut, tear and curl. In India, it is made with black tea, spices like ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, etc to which milk is and it is brewed together. Usually sugar and jaggery is added to sweeten it.

  • How to determine the water temperature is right?

    We recommend a certain temperature (80-85 C; 90-95 C) for the water to be boiled fresh at the time of brewing the tea. This is only a guide and precision without thermometer is challenging. You can simply boil and see for yourself. Boiling water is at 100 C, if you leave it for 30 sec it should be 90-95 C, if you leave it for 40-45 sec it should be 85-90 C, 1 minute should leave water at 80-85 C.

  • How to prepare chai tea?

    Divide the 150 ml into 3 parts milk and 1 parts water. To this add 2 gms of tea. Add the spices of your choice. Bring to a boil, simmer and let it sit together for 10 mins in the flame. Add sweetener of your choice and strain the tea.

  • How to store tea?

    We vacuum package our tea in high barrier aluminium pouches to ensure freshness of the teas. We recommend that you store the teas in airtight container in a cool, dry and odour free place. This keeps it away from air, light and surrounding odour. Thereby ensuring longer shelf life and quality experience of the tea.

  • Where is the tea from?

    We source all our teas directly from gardens in the best growing regions of India - Assam, Kangra, Darjeeling, North east, Nilgiris and Nepal.

  • What is the shelf life of this tea?

    Our teas can used upto 36 months from the date of manufacturing. However, teas once opened have to be stored in airtight containers and should be kept away from moisture, light and odour.
