This blue mountain range is located in the southern region of India and is the part of the vast Western Ghats. While, its most famous attribute is the flower Kurinji (blue in colour) that grows here. Hence it is called Nilgiri (blue mountains). It is equally popular for it’s tea. The tea found in this region are black, ctc, green, oolong and white. Most popular are whole leaf grade Orange Pekoe and Pekoe cut black tea. Some of the popular tea estates are Craigmore, Chamraj, Unitea, and Glendale.

  • Why should I consume loose leaf tea?

    Loose leaf teas are the best for consumption as one is able to brew the leaves properly while also enjoying maximum benefits from the tea leaves with quality tea experience. When steeped, loose leaf tea gives the complex flavours of tea that one can enjoy only in good quality teas. Also tea leaves need adequate space to properly unfurl while brewing. So, for a flavourful and wholesome tea experience use loose leaf tea.

  • How to determine the water temperature is right while making my tea?

    We recommend a certain temperature (80-85 C; 90-95 C) for the fresh o2 rich filtered water to be boiled at the time of brewing the tea. This is only a guide and precision without a thermometer is challenging. You can simply boil and see for yourself. Boiling water is at 100 C, if you leave it for 30 sec it should be around 90-95 C, if you leave it for 40-45 sec it should be around 85-90 C AND 1 minute should leave water at around 80-85 C.

  • How to prepare White tea ?

    Spoon measured the quantity of tea in the tea maker/pot. Pour boiled water (150 ml) over the tea leaves (2 g). Steep for suggested time (4-5 minutes). Strain and sweeten as per choice. Pour it in a cup and enjoy the #PluckToCup experience.
