This blue mountain range is located in the southern region of India and is the part of the vast Western Ghats. While, its most famous attribute is the flower Kurinji (blue in colour) that grows here. Hence it is called Nilgiri (blue mountains). It is equally popular for it’s tea. The tea found in this region are black, ctc, green, oolong and white. Most popular are whole leaf grade Orange Pekoe and Pekoe cut black tea. Some of the popular tea estates are Craigmore, Chamraj, Unitea, and Glendale.

Glendale Tea Estate is located in the vast south Indian range of Nilgiris that began in 1835. Glendale means, a valley within a valley and stands true to it’s name with its arresting scenic charm. The total planted area is 525 hectares and yields more than 3,000 kgs of tea per hectare. It has a state of the art factory that produces Orthodox Black tea, Green Tea and Speciality Tea. Owing to its weather which is cold, dry and misty the leaves are brisk, golden colour with distinct savoury floral aroma.

  • Why should I consume loose leaf tea?

    Loose leaf teas are the best for consumption as one is able to brew the leaves properly while also enjoying maximum benefits from the tea leaves. When steeped, loose leaf tea gives the complex flavours of tea that one can enjoy only in good quality teas. Also tea leaves need adequate space to properly unfurl while brewing. So, for a flavourful and wholesome tea experience use loose leaf tea.

  • How to determine the water temperature is right while making my tea?

    We recommend a certain temperature (80-85 C; 90-95 C) for the fresh oxygen rich filtered water to be boiled at the time of brewing tea. This is only a guide and precision without thermometer is challenging. You can simply boil and see for yourself. Boiling water is at 100 C, if you leave it for 30 sec it should be around 90-95 C, if you leave it for 40-45 sec it should be around 85-90 C and 1 minute should leave water at around 80-85 C.

  • How to prepare wellness tea ?

    Spoon measured quantity of tea in the tea maker/pot. Pour boiled water (150 ml) over the tea leaves. Steep for suggested time (3-4 minutes). Strain & sweeten as per choice. Pour it in a cup and enjoy the #PluckToCup experience.

  • How to store the tea?

    We vacuum package our tea in high barrier aluminium pouches to ensure freshness of the teas. We recommend that you store tea in an airtight container in a cool, dry and odour free place.   • Where is the tea from?

    We source all our teas directly from gardens in the best growing regions of India - Assam, Kangra, Darjeeling, North east, Nilgiris and Nepal.

  • What is the shelf life of this tea?

    Our teas can used from 18 to 24 months from the date of manufacturing. However, teas once opened have to be stored in airtight containers and should be kept away from moisture, light and odour.
